2015 PROJECT LIFE | FEBRUARY 03 AND 04

I’m back today with two more pages from my 2015 Project Life album.  Both are from February – the first one is from Valentine’s Day and the second includes events from the following weekend.  I really like the monthly approach I’m taking this year and love the flexibility it provides.  I haven’t been taking as many pictures this year (we basically do the same things each week) but it’s nice to create layouts with the photos I do take whether they be everyday moments or special occasions/events.  For these two pages, I used Ali Edwards’ Gatherings Digital Story Kit.  I love the colors and cards included and they seemed to fit my photos well.

Here’s the page that covers our Valentine’s Day this year:

2015 Project Life February 04I designed these pages to sit side-by-side in my album and this is what they’ll look like when put together:

2015 Project Life February 2I had a lot of fun putting these pages together and I hope you enjoyed seeing them.  I have been learning more and more about using digital products with each spread I create and it’s been such a great experience.  I love learning new things and making the decision to take on this project in a new way this year has definitely kept me motivated to keep up with my album!

2015 PROJECT LIFE | TITLE PAGE

Since the start of the new year, I’ve been deliberating over how I should approach my Project Life album this year.  Should I stick with 12×12?  Try out the new 9×12 album size?  Go digital?  Or should I just skip Project Life altogether this year?  I quickly decided that the last option was out because my husband and I LOVE looking through these albums each year.  Even though I don’t have an entire year complete, the memories I did record really capture our day-to-day life in a way that layouts and other scrapbooking projects cannot.  So, I decided I’m going to tackle this project once again but I’m going to change things up to keep it fresh and interesting this year.  Recently I’ve been super inspired by the way Annette Haring and Pam Baldwin use digital supplies to create beautiful pages.  After reading about their processes and giving it a lot of thought, I’m taking the plunge and creating my 2015 Project Life album digitally!  I’m really excited to learn and try something new this year.  I’m also going to approach this project monthly rather than weekly so I have more flexibility in my pages.

Earlier this week, I sat down to create my title page using the Project Life App on my phone and some digital supplies from Studio Calico and Ali Edwards.  It was so quick and easy that I decided to keep going and guess what?  I’m completely caught up with my 2015 album!  In just two and a half days, I did all of January and the first half of February.  I created 8 pages in total and just sent them off to Persnickety Prints to be printed.  I absolutely LOVE creating this way and it’s so much faster than my usual paper process.  I also love all of the great digital supplies that many companies are selling now so I feel like I have plenty of variety to create new pages each month.

Here’s a look at my title page.  Clean and simple.  And I love it!
